Today we helped our friend Matthew move to a new flat. We’re excited for our friends Matthew and Ashli because their new flat is in a great area of town (which just happens to be about a two minute walk from our place) and it’s always exciting to find a flat that you feel at home at. I’ve really come to appreciate what a blessing it is to have a place that feels homey over here. After spending last year in Mylnes’ Court and then finding our current flat it really brought me to the conclusion that while home may be where the heart is, it doesn’t hurt to have that place be somewhere you feel comfortable. In the midst of setting up a life in a new and unfamiliar place, it really makes a difference to your whole experience to have a place that you look forward to returning to each evening. I know both Scotty and I sort of dreaded going home to our tiny little 1970s theme place last year and that’s just not fun! So we’re so grateful that we have a place we really like. And I’m hoping that this new flat is the same for the Arbos.
Anyway, as Ashli wasn’t able to be here for the move due to visa problems, I took a couple of pics so she could see what it looked like. Matthew rented a little van which made everything so smooth! So much better than moving via taxicab like we did! But these little vans are so funny over here. They’re so little – not that we needed much more space than that. A really nice thing about moving overseas is the amount of “stuff” you have drastically declines! And it’s so nice to be able to move an entire flat in a little truck like this.
