Color

Yesterday was gorgeous! Warm, sunny, cheerful.  This morning I walked to the gym through a cold bank of fog.  Such is life in Scotland – you really never know what you’ll wake up to.  And so since my appetite for color has been whetted, I am going to post some pictures that I took last fall when the grey was settling in for a good long stay.  I tried to find color wherever I could and the result was pictures of lots of doors and cars.  I tried to take pictures that reflected the spectrum seen in rainbows but had a hard time finding doors or cars that were “ultraviolet” – but I did find some bright paint jobs.  Here’s the pictures of the doors, I’ll save the cars for another entry.  Hope you enjoy wherever you are and that you have a fantastic weekend!

This is one of my favorite blocks in Stockbridge. The yellow storefront is Cafe Florentine and they have great coffee! The white storefront to the right is Herbie's and they have amazing bread!

I like this whole doorway - there's something very inviting yet reserved about it.

I'm a sucker for all shades of green and I do really like this one.

huh?

Creamy dreamy? Mellow yellow? Or blah?

Blue is very popular around here...and interestingly enough there aren't a lot of red doors - which I love. The front door to our flat is red, but I haven't taken a picture of it yet.

  1. Like the idea of taking pictures of colour around the town. My mum has a red door !! Also a red one in Victoria street (Red Door gallery) and the doors of the Bedlam Theatre. Long may the nice weather continue 🙂
