Sunday at the Races! The Great Edinburgh Race

No…we didn’t get last minute tickets to a horse race…we went to the Bupa Great Edinburgh Race 10K to cheer on our friend Matt as he, along with 10,000 of his running buddies, ran a historic 10K route through the city.  It was the perfect day for a race – cool, sunny, crisp.  Absolutely gorgeous.  And the city had a great energy – something I guess happens when you have 10,000 people and their closest friends there to race and cheer one another on.  Here’s pics from the race and some of the characters who took part:

Huge race - this is how most of the race was, you can imagine what it would be like to do a 10K with 10,000 people!

There was so much good energy I was almost inspired to take up running...but then I remembered I absolutely hate running. It's completely torture to me...so I think I'll stick with yoga and pilates!

We all met up for coffee with our friends Hannah and Ash and then headed down to the Sunday market in Grassmarket.  And then we got to see one of the famous Stag parties go by – basically the Scottish version of a Bachelor Party…except that it appears the main goal of these outings is the complete and utter humiliation of the groom-to-be.  As seen here:

This poor man...and I think he was being a really good sport about it.

So that was our Sunday morning!  It was a lot of fun and now Scotty and I are up at school getting some work done.  Also, happy birthday to my brother Josh!  Wish I could be there to celebrate with you!  Love you.
