Gorgeous Weekend

The past few days have been absolutely gorgeous here in Edinburgh.  I feel OK about writing that now because it’s back to being gray and cold – but we had fantastic weather over the weekend.

Our friends Joe and Amanda, who have recently moved here from St. Louis, joined up on a hike up Arthur’s Seat.  The weather could not have been more perfect.  Gorgeous clear skies, nice cool breeze, perfect humidity.  Really perfect.

On our descent we followed what we thought was path but turned out to be simply a little dry stream bed.  It was really steep and the funny thing was I guess that we looked like we knew what we were doing because a whole group of Italian tourists followed us!  Oops.

It was really fun to get to hang out with the Riveras and show them a bit of our city.  Another fun thing that happened was that we met an American couple who was on their honeymoon.  They were from Albany and were very nice.  It became quite the “small-world moment” when the husband and Scotty realized that they both knew a pastor from Chautauqua!  Love those sorts of moment.
