Back in Chautauqua

We drove back from St. Louis on January 5 to discover that while we were gone Chautauqua had received several feet of snow!  Scotty drove through, yet another, blizzard to get us back here safely.  This was was especially tricky as it was 26 degrees.  This resulted in freezing rain.  Freezing rain on top of un-plowed interstates.  Basically Scotty drove a couple hundred miles on snow covered in a layer of ice.   I don’t know how he did it.

We had one day here to pack and prepare for our return to Edinburgh but we had to take some time to snap some pics of all this crazy snow:

Snow outside the door.

Our rental was covered in a sheet of ice.

Remember the photo of the birds on the lake - this is what the lake looked like a week later!

We also got an additional day with Beth due to the fact that her flight out was snowed in!  We spent at evening at Mimi’s and I got this picture of Scotty with his grandmother.  I love that Mimi is laughing it in – she has a great full-bodied laugh.
