Scotty and I just had a fabulous week with the Manors in Paris! It was a great time of togetherness, exploring, talking, laughing and soaking up the amazing atmosphere of Paris in May. Scotty and I loved showing everyone around the city we love and has played a romantic role in our relationship. Paris is where I really fell for Scotty back in 2001 – so being here 1o years later and walking in our old haunts was great. It’s strange how familiar this city feels to me. There is something about it that makes me feel comfortable, able to breathe more freely. So weird since I garble the language and the Latin Quarter always turns me around. It must have something to do with the endless beauty and energy.
Scotty and I arrived a day before the rest of the family and got kebabs from our favorite middle eastern food stand, walked along the Seine and lingered on the Pont des Arts – easily one of my favorite bridges.

Once Beth, Tim, and Marty arrived it was gardens, museums, shopping, and lots of talking. We hit the top sights: L’Orangerie, Musee d’Orsay, Champs Elysées, Louvre, Tuileries, Luxembourg Gardens, the Latin Quarter, Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, Île St. Louis, and more. I did not end up taking a lot of pictures, but here’s some of the highlights.

Thank you Tim and Beth for a wonderful trip! It was a memorable and very special time of being together – I loved every second. The timing of this trip could not have been more perfect because it allowed Scotty and me to take a bit of time to look for apartments as we’re going to be moving to this lovely place in September. I’m still pinching myself and cannot believe I will be spending ten months wandering around one of my favorite places in the world. In the mean time I’m going to soak up these last months here in Edinburgh, practice my terrible French and wrap my mind around the fact that we’ll be spending six months living in a flat that is under 200 square feet!

It looks and sounds like a fine time was had by all. What a special week with special people in Paris no less! Tim and Beth, Marti, you look great. Fun seeing photos of all of you. Good to know you enjoyed a very relaxed time with great weather and seeing all the sights. Becca and Scotty do know their way around, don’t they!

Becca, you were so patient showing me the art galleries and I have a new appreciation for Monet, Renoir and my favorite, Rembrandt. We loved the food and the desserts which we walked and walked off by the mile! Tim’s and my moonlit cruise down the Seine was outstanding and we loved each and every place where you guided us. Becca, I am so sorry I will miss meeting you in January, when I am in Edinburg and you are in Paris! But congratulations! I hope to go back to Paris one day, I loved it too! Your photos are spectacular, as always and Beth is as beautiful as she was the last time I saw her! I am also trying to learn a lot about Edinburgh by reading your posts…so keep it up please! Hi Judy, I’m sorry I won’t be able to meet you and show you around our favorite Edinburgh spots! I love that you’re going to have your students look for lost items – if they find any good ones, send me pictures and I’ll post them. Hopefully, one day when I’m in Florida visiting the Manors, we’ll have the chance to meet. It’s been so fun to get to know Karin and I’ve heard many great stories about Scotty and Karin’s adventures at TMA.
