When today dawned bright and beautiful, I knew we had to take advantage of it. Yes, it was cold, but the light was gorgeous and I wanted to soak it all up. So we took off in the direction of Montparnasse. We really had never explored this area, with the exception of an inadvertent detour once when I got hopelessly lost on my bike. Anyway, our route took us through the Luxembourg Gardens where, apparently, all of Paris was out for a run. Yes, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Parisians run. They’re not all skinny because they sit around smoking all the time. Anyway, back to our lovely morning.
For some reason today my attention was drawn to all the beautiful building façades. So, I snapped lots of pictures of them. Here’s my favorites.
And, of course, the Senat at Luxembourg.
And for Bethy, had to take a picture of these when we passed a lovely flower shop. More tulips!
And soon we were in line for the Tour Montparnasse! I can’t wait to share the pictures because seeing Paris from 200 metres is amazing. But I am going to put them all in another entry for tomorrow. See you then!
Ah yes, how the memories come flooding back, I simply adore Paris, and these beautiful shots of yours make me yearn, ever so much.
Thank you!!
Gorgeous photos Becca!! Looks like it was a super fabulous day!!! Looking forward to seeing the photos you’re holding back!!! 🙂 **
They’re coming! 🙂 Thanks!
Love Paris! Would give a lot to go back and see everything I’ve missed before… Thanks for the lovely photos. 🙂
Thank you!
Sometimes we forget to look up and see what the real building looks like. Great pictures.
Jim
Thanks, Jim.
Ahhh, Paris, how I love thee so! Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures. when we visited, we lost our camera, and now we only have a few rubbishy shots from a disposable camera and the video of our bungee ball slingshot near the Louvre which I posted recently!
Oh! So sad to not have a camera in Paris. Although, sometimes I find that leaving my camera in my bag is a good exercise in just noticing what is around me and not trying to “capture” it. But just enjoy it for what it is!
Very mindful! And yes, it was a good experience I guess
love love love. I’m in an architectural zone these days, and these shots are so gorgeous. The wrought iron balconies, the curves, the colours. And of course, those beautiful flowers at the end. Lovely!
Thanks Marina!
I love the beautiful building facades in the sunlight and the shot of Luxembourg Gardens was delightful! Thank you for the gorgeous bouquets of tulips to add to my list – Eucharisteo!
Glad you liked them – they were a eucharisteo moment!
Would love to hear what that old wall has heard through the centuries.
#2 I wonder if that top floor apt with the awnings is available on VRBO?
Looks like the L. Gardens are prim and proper just waiting for Spring.
How do I get a job as a garden tender there?
Thanks Becca for the superb pictures
If you did get a job as a gardener at the Luxembourg, you would get to wear one of their nifty green uniforms!
